Mohamid was educated in Guyana, Canada, and the United States. For most of his career, he worked in the business and computer technology fields, where he held various positions in management. Over his working career, Mohamid received several awards, including a Corporate Service Excellence Award from his last employer. Based on his prior experience as a police officer, his employer selected him as a first responder to assist at Ground Zero during the 9/11/2001 Twin Towers attack in New York City. He has also participated in Habitat for Humanity’s efforts in building affordable housing in New York City. He received commendation awards for both of these undertakings. Mohamid is currently retired and living with his wife in Florida. He is the father of two lovely daughters, two outstanding sons, and five adorable grandchildren.
